@sandeepk This will not work for related lookups, since custom managers are not used across relations. It is also mentioned here in the docs: https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/3.1/topics/db/managers/#don-t-filter-away-any-results-in-this-type-of-manager-subclass

@sandeepk doing it in a custom manager is fine, just don't remove objects in the default manager. It will appear to work but it will fail in confusing and non-intuitive ways.
@sandeepk Ledger & the emacs mode are great indeed! I once used them to coordinate ~4 roommates & 3 payment platforms (with all the ensuing chaos); worked surprisingly well.
